What the verse says

When the movements settle, what remains is not blankness but the seer — awareness itself — no longer borrowing its identity from whatever it happens to be watching.

In practice

This verse is why the Sutras treat meditation as recognition rather than achievement. Nothing is added; something stops being mistaken for something else.
