Ekadashi dates, 2034
Ekadashi is the eleventh tithi (lunar day) of both the waxing and the waning fortnight, so it falls roughly twice a month — about 24 times a year, occasionally 25 or 26.
In the Vaishnava tradition it is the principal fasting day, traditionally kept by avoiding grains and beans, and broken the next morning in a window called parana. Many yoga practitioners use it as a simple monthly rhythm for lighter eating and longer sitting practice.
Fasting is not suitable for everyone: people who are pregnant, diabetic, underweight or on medication should take medical advice first, and a lighter meal rather than a full fast is a legitimate traditional option.
How the date is decided here: the local day on which the Ekadashi tithi is in force at sunrise. Where it holds at two sunrises, the first is shown and the second is flagged; where it begins and ends between two sunrises, the day it begins is shown.
